A new painting of Hurricane Sandy, also referred to as Frankenstorm, which I Call Mitt Romney: Days Of The Churning And The Blood Drenched Moon-

 

In my painting, Mitt Romney signals his harmony with the will of God concerning Hurricane Sandy as it threatens the east coast of the United States. The blood drenched moon of Mormon prophecy also appears.  Are these the final days, or the beginning of a new era?

This is an oil and acrylic painting on an 8 by 10 inch sheet of canvas from a canvas pad.  It can be easily framed in any photo ready frame; I recommend removing the glass and adding an extra sheet of cardboard backing to hold the painting in place.

I was aiming for a sort of knock-out drag-out fight between the two but this happened instead.  It looks almost as if they could be out on a date.  As of this posting, neither has hurt anyone on the East Coast of the US, regardless of the speculated capacity of each, so I suppose that guided the theme. They really seem made for one another.

This was painted in response to Barack Obama's 1980's reference during the final Presidential debate. Painted in oil and therefore a little too difficult to work with at the moment; I'll post an updated photo later today.

Update Tuesday 10/23 - I revised the painting, improving the likeness, adding the organ and more detail. You can still the pre-revised painting at the Ebay listing.

Mitt Romney Romnesia Painting, Revised

I revised my recent Romnesia painting, removing the 'I am Mitt' lettering from the post-it notes which are stuck on and around Mitt's head.  I decided the lettering made the painting look too much like an editorial cartoon.  The 'message' of the painting is more subtle ( needing to remind oneself constantly of self-identity ) and I think this is now a better painting, but I've been wrong before.  I also did a bit more work to the detail of the face.  I like it, but if the winning bidder on Ebay would like the lettering restored I would be happy to do so. It would still be a nice painting.
