Toon 6/25/05 and Kelo Versus New London

It's difficult to keep up with the news, from the constitution destroying Kelo versus New London decision by the Supreme Court (cartoon in progress) to the expected decision by the same on Monday regarding The Ten Commandments, to the many smaller stories of courage lost in the recent and relentless breakers of history, such as the topic of today's cartoon or the brave nurse fired from a Catholic hospital for refusing to dispense an abortion pill (a hat-tip to the passionate KC of Extreme Truths for that one, as well as for posting a few cartoons.)

As for Kelo versus New London; words cannot convey my disgust for the individuals who would choose to vote away private property rights in favor of a greater, collectivist good, this being the very definition of Imperial /Marxist systems of tyranny against which we've shed much U.S. blood.

The four dissenting votes were all Republican appointees including the relentlessly vilified Thomas and Scalia, with both Clinton appointees voting against the very bedrock of our freedom- the right to the security afforded through personal ownership of the land which rests beneath our businesses and homes. Justice Kennedy makes an appearance here in the role of Judas.
