The official Christmas card from the Cathedral of St. Paul, St. Paul, Minnesota.
The greeting, as printed on the back-
CHRISTMAS AT THE CATHEDRAL OF SAINT PAUL
The staff members of the Cathdral of St. Paul are serious about our Catholic Faith-but joyful in living it out! Our impressive place of worship can sometimes seem overwhelmingly grand...and so we thought that you might appreciate a touch of down-to-earth humanity in this Christmas greeting. We hope that it may make you smile and feel more at home in our spiritual family. As we are able to laugh at our own occassional silliness, so we are more willing to put with one another's imperfections.
May this season of joy unite us in a deeper communion of love as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ!
-followed by a small picture of two more priests wearing santa claus hats.
As former residents of St. Paul, Chris and I used to be members of the Cathedral, and we kept our membership until earlier this year and the Father Altier / Archbishop Flynn fiasco, at which time we decided it was time to move on. Obviously we're still on the Cathedral's mailing list, which is why we received this card.
Judging by the humorous mis-use of scripture on the card front, I would guess they are not all pretending to be the original St. Nikolaus, Bishop of Myra.
