A painting from last year featuring Senator Al Franken and Barack Obama. This is one of a number of Al Franken's which I've painted during the past year.
Fox News just announced that we're screwed - AR15
By the way; I still have this very large portrait of Al Franken with a pancake on his head, which was on display last year at Canterbury Park-
If you live in Minnesota and would like a 3 by 4 foot oil painting of Al Franken with a pancake on his head for your home or office for $300, drop me a line and I'll deliver it in person. Otherwise, I'm considering restretching the painting onto a smaller size frame and auctioning it on Ebay.

I've been going back and forth with myself trying to decide upon a themed Michael Jackson painting. I have an idea which is a little different than anything I've done before, but could work well. Hopefully I'll have it online this weekend.

An oil portrait of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei wearing a turban made out of pancakes. The backdrop is the flag of Iran.
It was either this or a portrait of Neda Agha-Soltan. This just suited my mood a little better.

A 5 by 7 inch bird art painting of a cardinal. I've painted a number of pictures of birds, which I should probably put together into a gallery sometime. If you scroll down in this linked post from last year, you can find one of my previous cardinal paintings in addition to my very first ACEO sized 'Oolong pancake bunny' painting.

A new oil portrait of Sarah Palin with a tall stack of pancakes on her head.
I have a number of new paintings ready for auction, but I'd like to show some compassion for my long-suffering collectors by getting into the habit of posting items earlier than 2 in the morning. If I can aim auctions to conclude consecutively starting at 7 pm California time / 10 PM New York time, that would be optimum and give people a chance to actually be awake and watch the closings.

Another reason my output has been slowed is that I'm working again on Faithmouse. I'm always sort of taken aback, when people mention my pancake paintings or the 'Barack Obama Nude On A Unicorn' series, that it's as if Faithmouse never existed. As viral as many of my paintings have gone online, Faithmouse was that and more so.
A few weeks ago, the London based ChurchBrand UK, which originated the TV4Life Christian programming guide, contacted me regarding their new The Christian Times newspaper. So, starting at the end of this month and after a delay from the time of inception, Faithmouse will appear in print as well as online exclusively via The Christian Times. If you live in Great Britain, the editor of TCT will be interviewed this Sunday on BBC regional TV by Ashley Peatfield, director of religious programming.

An oil portrait of Barack Obama eaten by a Ray's Hell Burger.
This is merely a picture of Barack Obama being consumed by a hamburger. It contains absolutely no political or moral message, except perhaps that it isn't healthy to eat too many burgers.

Here is my challenge-
I would be very much interested in painting the life story of Padre Pio with a special focus on his relationship with America; perhaps painting the illustrations large enough both for a book and for a traveling exhibition. Considering the amount of money some of these artists are asking for their work, and the consensus of the commentators here that higher value work needs to be offered to the public, I would say 150,000 would be a fair price for the project, which would take me about two years to complete.
Here are a few samples of my work-
So, it’s up to you, if this project will be created or not. I would think if you all went in a few thousand dollars it could be funded, and you would have a triumph.
By the way, I’m the creator of the ‘Barack Obama Nude On A Unicorn’ series, noted earlier. I’m the ‘Painter Of Pancakes’ the ’self-described disillusioned conservative’ recently featured in a front page New York Times story, and the creator of the ‘Faithmouse’ cartoon who couldn’t find enough support in the Christian conservative community to continue my pro-life apologetic, and who then decided to produce the sort of work people were actually willing to pay for, and I’m very grateful for my fans.
So here’s your opportunity. Surely the quality of my work if worthy of your support, and you already fully understand that quality has a price.
This is a serious offer. If someone is willing to step forward and fund the project, or to organize the funding of the project, I will do it.

Mary Cassatt is one of my favorite impressionist painters, and it seems to me that she painted fabric more than anything else. I had her painting style in mind when I painted the King's head dress.

These are the paintings I was referring to in the New York Times article when I said “I can do ones like that in about an hour.” These are exercises in pure painting, and a relief between working on portraits where a likeness is required.
Unlike the sable brushes which I use for many (but not all) of my portraits, the bristles I use for the nudes look like they were eaten by weasels.

An oil portrait of Susan Boyle commissioned by Diane.
By Diane, a poem-
ONCE UPON A TIME
IN THE LAND OF OOH-B-PAN
THERE LIVED A GIFTED PAINTER
BY THE NAME OF OOH-B-DAN
HE PAINTED IN THE MORNING
AND HE PAINTED IN THE NIGHT
HE PAINTED HEADS WITH PANCAKES
IT WAS A FEARSOME SIGHT
HE PAINTED MANY PANCAKES
AND DORAYAKI TOO
IT MAKES YOUR MOUTH JUST WATER
TO SEE WHAT HE CAN DO
HE MADE SO MANY PANCAKES
AND SOME WITH RABBIT POO
HE PAINTED GIFTED SUSAN
BARACK OBAMA TOO
OH LET US KEEP ON WATCHING
TO SEE WHAT MORE HE'LL DO
WILL IT BE SUSAN SINGING
OR A NAKED BODY'S VIEW
PERHAPS BARACK OBAMA
PERHAPS HIS WIFE MICHELLE
PERHAPS HE'LL PAINT THEIR CHILDREN
ONLY TIME WILL TELL
BUT ONE THINGS SURE FOR CERTAIN
THE NEXT ONE'S SURE TO TEASE
AND TITILLATE THE PALETTE
THE NEXT ONE'S SURE TO PLEASE
THE MOST DECERNING BIDDER
FOR COLORS TINT AND HUE
I KNOW THAT I'LL BE BIDDING
ON A WINNER, WOULDN'T YOU?

A new portrait of Susan Boyle, happy. This is a rework of the image posted this morning. Sometimes a painting is just too wet for further detail work, so I have to let it sit overnight before I complete it.
If you compare the thumbnail image, which is saved by Ebay, with the updated hotlinked image which is displayed in the description, you can readily see the differences between the initial and the completed version. I've been trying to post auctions sometime before 3 AM so people have a chance to bid live on the closing. The updateable hotlink gives me a chance to do so before revisions. Again, the larger image on the auction is the completed and refined painting, and, in my opinion, much improved.
I still can't spell 'Britain.'

From the top- A new monstrance painting started at my local Perpetual Adoration Chapel, Obama Unicorn/Mike Tyson allusion, Obama holds a sports jersey which says 'Obama', a Ford pickup with a pancake on top (by request), Obama Unicorn 'American Idol', Susan Boyle with lights behind her evoking a Union Jack, Justice Sotomayor Aztec priestess pancake, Jon and Kate turning their backs on eight small pancakes, three robins eggs (painted from a photo I took of a nest outside my front door), two Obama 'gold' portraits, a male nude study, and a new Phil Spector prison pancake.
I'm putting all of these aside to work on a painting I'm calling 'Broadway Obamas' which I think will be pretty nifty. Hopefully I'll have it completed by the end of the day.
