The original painting is 2 by 3 feet; in order to create this online image I laid the painting on a desktop scanner and then stitched the twelve scans together in Photoshop.

Painted completely in oil, which I haven't done very much of for the past few years, having turned almost completely to oil. I primed the canvas first in black and then removed some of the flesh color with a dry brush, which helped especially with the modeling of the back muscles.

Four out of my last five paintings have featured a male nude with a black cat; I only deviated for the last painting which ebay pulled because they decided it was either too sexy or too explicit.  This painting should pass the family friendly test just fine since it is only a picture of an ass. And a cat. Madchen has been waking my up every morning for the past week, so perhaps that's where all of this is coming from.

Trololo Zombie Painting / Eduard Khil Critically Ill

A zombie painting I did last year of the Trololo man Eduard Khil, who I am sad to say is critically ill in a Russian hospital following a stroke-



From what I understand, Eduard was honored but also irritated by the renewed attention he had garnered via his online celebrity, as he suspected he was actually being laughed at as much as enjoyed.  Well, that's unfortunate.  Many excellent actors have progressed to careers as comedians, and Mr Khil's unintended success I think was comparable.

I gave this painting to a fan as a gift last year. Happy to repost this today as a $20 ebay print, which also included free shipping and a complimentary refrigerator magnet featuring the same image-
